Correct part confirmation is one of the most important steps when buying excavator parts remotely. A machine model alone is sometimes enough, but many excavators have different configurations, production years, engines or suppliers within the same model series.
Start with the machine information
- Excavator brand and full model
- Machine serial number when available
- Engine model for fuel and engine-related parts
- Approximate production year if known
The serial number helps narrow down changes within a model series. It is especially useful for controllers, wiring harnesses, hydraulic components and parts that changed during production.
Provide the part number or nameplate
A clear part number is often the fastest way to confirm a product. For hydraulic pumps, motors, valves and fuel-system parts, photograph the complete nameplate rather than typing only one line. Pump and motor codes may contain suffixes that indicate shaft, port or displacement differences.
Send clear product photos
Take photos of the full old part, mounting side, connectors, ports, flange, bolt pattern and any cast or printed codes. Place the part in good light and avoid covering key areas with hands or packaging.
Measure when the product has no readable code
Dimensions are particularly important for buckets, quick couplers, undercarriage parts, cylinders and some motors. Use a tape or caliper and show the measurement clearly in the photo. Useful measurements can include pin diameter, pin-center distance, arm width, mounting-hole spacing, shaft diameter, overall length and port size.
Explain the required quality and quantity
Tell the supplier whether you need original, aftermarket, remanufactured or another quality option. Quantity and destination country also affect packing, logistics and quotation preparation.
Final check before shipment
Before shipping, reconfirm the product name, machine application, part number, quantity and visible interfaces. For customized attachments, confirm the approved drawing or measurement sheet. For sensitive electronic components, confirm connector layout and software or program requirements where applicable.
